What To Expect

Individual music therapy sessions will take place online using the Resonia platform. The music therapy sessions are designed to help students build tools for stress management, through music. Tools could include listening to music, building an individualized playlist, song-writing, improvising with digital instruments and/or lyric analysis. Sessions are confidential and facilitated by a credentialed music therapist.

Stephanie Thuy Quynh An MTA, MT-BC

Stephanie is a performing artist, board-certified Music Therapist (MT-BC, MTA), and Emotional Health Practitioner (EHP) who believes deeply in the power of music to support healing, connection, and emotional well-being. She holds a Master of Music in Applied Music and Health from the University of Toronto, along with a Graduate Diploma in Clinical Behavioural Sciences, and completed her Honours Bachelor of Music and Diploma in Classical Clarinet Performance at McMaster University.

Stephanie is currently continuing her studies in grief and bereavement studies with a focus on palliative and end-of-life care at Wilfrid Laurier University. She is also certified in Neural Networking Therapy (NNT) through the Canadian Family Health Counselling in affiliation with Trent University, and became a recognized Neurologic Music Therapist (NMT) through the Academy of Neurologic Music Therapy in 2022.

Stephanie is committed to creating a safe, inclusive, and welcoming space where people feel supported in exploring their emotional and physical well-being through music.

Stephanie Suitor MTA, MT-BC

Stephanie completed her Bachelor of Music Therapy in 2023, including an internship at Grand River Hospital in Kitchener, where she worked with diverse populations across rehabilitation, palliative care, and medically complex units.


Stephanie uses music therapy to support mental health and proactive wellness, helping students manage stress, build resilience, and maintain balance. She holds a Neurologic Music Therapy designation and is currently pursuing her Master of Occupational Therapy at McMaster University, exploring ways to combine music therapy and occupational therapy to support overall well-being.

McMaster Student Wellness & Resonia Collaboration -

Resonia is a digital music therapy platform in Beta-Form that has received funding through Pacific Coastal Computing Association to bring an online Music Therapy Pilot program to the students at McMaster University in collaboration with the McMaster Student Wellness Centre.
